Postcards from Italy

After weeks spent exploring Scandinavia, I found myself stepping into an entirely different rhythm. Italy wasn't another destination on the itinerary - it became an invitation to slow down. To pause. To breathe. To simply be.

There is something about Italy that has always felt deeply familiar. The warmth of its people, the richness of its landscapes, the faded shutters and sun-washed facades, the way beauty is woven so effortlessly into everyday life. It reminded me that not every moment needs to be hurried. Some are meant to be savoured.

After weeks of architectural pilgrimages, long travel days and the constant movement that comes with running a growing business from afar, I realised my body was asking for something different.

Somewhere between Italy and Switzerland, I recognised something I already knew but hadn't fully listened to.

I needed the water.

Not simply to admire it, but to immerse myself in it. The lakes, the stillness, the movement, the quiet rhythm of nature. I needed space to refill my cup before returning home to everything waiting ahead.

The lakes became the unexpected highlight of the journey.

Swimming in the icy alpine waters of Switzerland is something I will never forget. The first plunge stole my breath, but only for a moment. It was followed by a feeling of complete clarity - as though every thought had quietened, leaving only the sound of the water and the mountains surrounding me.

In that moment, I remembered how much I love being in nature, how restorative water has always been, and how quickly it brings me back to myself.

Perhaps it was the endless shades of blue, the glass-like reflections or the way the lakes shifted from emerald to sapphire with the changing light. Blue has always been the colour I return to - from the deepest ocean tones to the softest morning skies - and these landscapes felt as though they had been painted from a palette I have always loved.

With Faith Jewels continuing to grow and our vision of expanding further into Europe becoming increasingly tangible, this season of travel felt less like an escape and more like a reset. A chance to reconnect with the reason I create, to dream bigger, and to remember that caring for myself is part of building something meaningful.

Inspiration wasn't something I went searching for.

It found me quietly - in the changing colours of the lakes, the warmth of the Italian sun, peaceful morning swims and the beauty of slowing down enough to notice what was already there.

Because beauty isn't only something we create.

It is something we choose to experience.

And sometimes, the greatest inspiration comes from knowing when to pause, breathe, and begin again.

From Italy, Faith.
